Maureen McGovern celebrates women singer/songwriters in her powerful new show and forthcoming CD, Sing, My Sisters, Sing!. Sing, My Sisters, Sing! includes works by iconic women singer/songwriters who changed the texture of American Popular Music with their deeply personal and timeless songs including works: Annie Lennox,Janis IanCarole KingPhoebe SnowJoni MitchellCarly SimonLaura NyroKate & Anna McGarrigle, Amanda McBroom, and Melissa Manchester, among others… Maureen also pays tribute to her “early singing sisters:” Ella FitzgeraldBillie Holiday, and Annie Ross, who paved the way by writing their own signature songs. The performance includes: “Heart Like A Wheel,” “Natural Woman,” “I Feel The Earth Move,” “Poetry Man,” “Help Me,” “At Seventeen,” “Come In From The Rain,” “A Tisket, A Tasket,” “God Bless The Child,” and more! With music director Jeff Harris on piano and Jay Leonhart on bass
