Be More Chill is by no means a typical show about high school. It’s vibrant, inventive… terrific new musical theater!” –BroadwayWorld

“Joe Iconis’s score is like the fictional ‘squip pill.’ Once ingested, it will change you forever.” –Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman

New York City Premiere! Fresh off its acclaimed run at Two River Theater in New Jersey, Be More Chill is ready to bring it’s suburban science fiction spin on teen angst and mind control to the heart of the theater district. Jeremy Heere is just an average teenager. That is, until he finds out about “The Squip”—a tiny supercomputer that promises to bring him everything he desires most: a date with Christine, an invite to the raddest party of the year and a chance to survive high school and life, itself.

Written by Joe Iconis (NBC’s Smash, Bloodsong of Love) and Joe Tracz (Theaterworks USA’s Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief) and based on the novel by Ned Vizzini, Be More Chill looks at modern issues like depression and bullying through a wild, unique lens, taking its inspiration from 1980s horror films, 1950s science fiction, and video games.

This high-energy concert presentation, starring members of the original cast, will showcase the modern, hummable score that has already developed a rabid fanbase amongst theatergoers. The Original Cast Recording by Ghostlight/Sh-K-Boom Records can be purchased here.

Featuring original cast members Gerard Canonico, Katlyn Carlson, Will Connolly, Stephanie Hsu, Katie Ladner, Lauren Marcus, Eric William Morris, George Salazar, Heath Saunders, and Paul Whitty.
