Exactly fifty years ago on this very night, Barbra Streisand was catapulted to superstardom when Funny Girl opened on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre. Be there as 54 Below tips our hat to this fabulous Jule Styne/Bob Merrill score when 54 Sings Funny Girl! With music direction by John McDaniel, some of Broadway’s best are scheduled to appear (with more to be announced!), including: Ashley Brown, Carole J. Bufford, Donna Lynne Champlin, Katie Rose Clarke, Tovah Feldshuh, Natalie Douglas, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Karen Mason, Julia Murney, Molly Pope, Emily Skinner, John Tartaglia, Donna Vivino, and the icing on the cake–the dynamo who replaced Barbra and went on to play the role for a year and a half in the original Broadway production, MIMI HINES! Some of Broadway’s best are lined up to take a walk down Henry Street, singing tunes like “Cornet Man,” “The Music That Makes Me Dance” and, of course, “People.”
