Welcome

54 Below

Join actor, writer and singer Almog Pail in an unconventional musical storytelling by 1940’s Hollywood’s pin-up Rita Hayworth, inspired by true events. In Me, Myself and Rita, the slightly demented Rita Hayworth (interpreted by Almog), is taking the audience on a journey full of musical nostalgia, dance and magic. Characters from her past come to life … dance partner Fred Astaire, scandalous lover Orson Welles, and more. Almog will interpret songs from Rita’s most highly rated films, such as Put the Blame on Mame (“Gilda”),  So Near and Yet So Far (“You’ll Never Get Rich”) and Please Don’t Kiss Me (“The Lady from Shanghai”).

Almog Pail started her acting career in Israel with numerous credits in TV, Film and Stage. She later moved to Malta where she developed her solo show Me, Myself and Rita and worked at the National Theatre. The show’s success in Malta brought Almog to New York, which is now her home. Me, Myself and Rita had its Off-Broadway debut last Fall and Almog is thrilled to perform it for the first time at Feinsteins/54 Below.

“A brave young woman in a strange land, she has elected to tackle a subject most would choose to forget – early onset Alzheimer’s, conveyed through an imaginary stage appearance by Rita Hayworth” -Paul Meltzer, Plays To See
