Broadway Acts for Women 2018
September 30, 2018
A star-studded night of music and mayhem, Broadway Acts For Women is in its fourth year of raising critical funds and awareness on behalf of struggling health care providers and advocates all over the country. Each year, and in the only event of its kind, Broadway performers who support access to reproductive health care show up to sing something they’ve never rehearsed, while the audience bids for a fantastic prize AND the chance to choose the song.
This year’s event will benefit National Advocates for Pregnant Women, Access Reproductive Care, and National Network of Abortion Funds. Past performers at Broadway Acts for Women include Patti LuPone, Betty Buckley, Tituss Burgess, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Rebecca Luker, Howard McGillin, Michael Cerveris, Montego Glover, Lena Hall, Brian d’Arcy James, Tonya Pinkins, Keith Carradine, and many more.
Host Cecily Strong of “Saturday Night Live” returns this year, joined by A is For’s Martha Plimpton, and our new auctioneer, downtown comedy genius and fierce feminist Amanda Duarte (Dead Darlings – Time Out New York’s pick of the week too many weeks to count). 2018 brings us a new roster of Broadway’s biggest singing stars, as always accompanied by the A is For band, led by musical director Dan Lipton.
