The Burnt Part Boys features music by Chris Miller (Tuck Everlasting, Angels In America) lyrics by Nathan Tysen (Amélie, Tuck Everlasting) and a book by Mariana Elder (This Side of Paradise, Run Teddy Run). In 1962 rural West Virginia, fourteen year-old Pete is fighting to claim his past. His older brother Jake is hoping to forge a future. With an eclectic band of friends teetering on the brink of adulthood, they’ve embarked on a life-altering journey to the coalmine that took the lives of their fathers. Dangerous, hilarious, and heartwarming discoveries comprise every theatrical layer of the adventure on the road to the mine. Hailed among critics and creatives, The Burnt Part Boys features a soaring elegiac bluegrass and pop-inspired score that reverberates as resonantly in audiences’ souls as the acoustic instruments that provide the accompaniment.
