June 14, 2020
Celebrate NYC and Pride month with singer-songwriter and pianist Chris Urquiaga and Friends! Backed by Chris’s all-star band, this show will pay musical tribute to NYC and Pride in this great city, with Chris Urquiaga’s show tunes and pop songs. NYC’s beauty, busyness and cultural diversity has artistically inspired Chris and so many others, making Pride month a perfect, festive time for Chris and his friends to each write a Love Letter to NYC in song to celebrate the greatest city in the world, expressing what NYC means to them. Chris Urquiaga is an exciting singer-songwriter & pianist who sings in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, infusing sounds of pop, R&B, and Latin music, which reflect his Brazilian and Peruvian heritage. Come for an evening of good times, evocative melodies, and Latin rhythms that will make you wanna sing along and dance!
Tunes from his fun new musical he’s writing, Mr. Manhattan!, will also be presented at the show. He is co-writing this musical with fellow New Yorker Jordan Silver, a musical comedy about gentrification based in NYC in the style of TV shows “Family Guy” and “South Park.” You’ll also get to hear live versions of songs from Chris’s critically acclaimed Latin pop albums Complete and I’m Here.
