Join us at Feinstein’s/54 Below for an extraordinary evening of insider tales and stunning, memorable songs written by American Master, Harold Arlen.
Two Broadway stalwarts- the beautiful, silver-throated Shelly Burch, and the theoretically legendary director-lyricist Martin Charnin – will regale audiences in this concert of All Arlen. (It’ll be the first time Charnin performs since he made his debut in West Side Story in 1957!)
In the 60’s, Charnin began a collaboration with Arlen, which resulted in the creation of 55 songs, many of them, rarely, or never heard before. Get the inside scoop on that, as Ms. Burch dips into the Arlen songbook to perform new and thrilling versions of “Accentuate The Positive”, “Get Happy”, “The Man That Got Away”, “Anyplace I Hang My Hat is Home”, and more.
Accompanied by the David Shenton Trio, and supplemented with some rare, recently unearthed visuals, this unique concert shines a light on, and is a long awaited tribute to, one of the truly unique American theatre composers.
