LYONS & PAKCHAR: WHO WE ARE

For one night only, contemporary musical theatre composers Douglas Lyons and Ethan Pakchar will showcase original music from their pop/R&B catalogue with performances by leading Broadway artists, such as Tony Award winner Lillias White (The Life, Fela), Ben Platt (The Book of Mormon, “Pitch Perfect”), Naturi Naughton (“Notorious,” “Fame,” Hairspray, 3LW), Katie Thompson (Giant), Robin de Jesús (In the Heights), Christine Dwyer (Wicked), Mykal Kilgore (Motown), Nic Rouleau (The Book of Mormon), Felicia Boswell (Memphis), Julia Mattison (Godspell), Tamika Sonja Lawrence (If/Then), Daniel Torres (Evita), John Brink (Les Misérables), Nik Alexander (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert tour), Bradley Greer (Altar Boyz tour), Melody Madarasz (Mr. Chickee’s Funny Money), J. Hoard and more. With back-up singers Rashidra Scott (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Olithea Anglin (Something Major), and Darius Harper (The Book of Mormon tour).

Lyons & Pakchar’s debut album #Love (Live) mixes pop, R&B and theatre to explore the good, bad and awkward roller coasters in human relationships. They are hard at work on two full-length musicals including 79’ and an untitled musical about The Five Points.

Lyons & Pakchar began collaborating while touring with The Book of Mormon. Lyons, who handles lyrics and music, currently appears in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and has performed in Pageant, Rent, and Dreamgirls. Guitarist and composer Pakchar, who has played for the Broadway productions of Wicked, The Book of Mormon and Newsies, provides orchestration and additional music.

Musical Direction by Alvin Hough (Motown)
Produced by Matthew Masten (Of Mice and Men, Buyer & Cellar) and Marianne Mills (Of Mice and Men, Lysistrata Jones)
